Reading List

Just a reminder; I plan on reading through all the stories on my reading list/requested stories. I might not get to it right away and reads might be days in between but I promise I'll get to all of them :) you can expect my sometimes snarky icomments and genuinely praising comments to arrive soon :D

Profile Information

My name is Thom J, or as I'm formally known, T.E. Jackson. I'm an amateur writer and longtime reader. I'm currently writing Jagged Bones, a story following the exploits of a veteran monster hunter turned dragon slayer. Felhammer, following Knight-Guard Gunnar and his legion of battle-hardened mercenaries as they battle against seemingly unbeatable foes. Scales of War, following... well... I don't wanna spoil it yet. And last, but *certainly* not least, Hunted, my baby. My summary couldn't do it justice, so plunge in and check it out, I'd greatly appreciate it :)

I've been writing since I was about 13 or 14, but it was just a fun side hobby until about two years ago. That's when I decided to take it more seriously, and as a result, my writings improved astronomically. I'm still not amazing and have a long way to go, but I'm confident in calling myself a good writer. I must also stress that I don't have access to any grammar improving tools, such as Grammarly. Or an editor (for now) so any grammatical mistakes I make, I apologize. I get better every day though, so hopefully, I'll get that down some day. (Edit: I do now have the free version of Grammarly)

I currently live in Maine, of the United States, but I was born in Rhode Island, we moved here when I was just a small child, so I don't remember too much of my home state, but I'm glad to live where I do, I wouldn't trade it for any other place. I dropped out of high school when I was 16, and have not attended college, but who knows what the future will bring. I'm currently in a very happy relationship with my perfect match, we'll call her F in respect of her privacy :)

If you would ever like to get in contact with me, feel free to leave a message, a comment, or a quickie thingy on my profile, I'd love to speak with you! Thank you for taking the time to read through, it's appreciated! :)

Writers I believe you should check out:

hullabaloo22 - A fantastic writer. Excellently skilled at poems. I've sadly not had many interactions with them outside of comments. Any of their poems are a fantastic choice, so... read them all! Hahaha.

M. A. Yacone - Probably the best horror writer I've ever seen on Booksie. He's also magnificently skilled at fantasy and comedy surprisingly! Not to mention he's a top-notch person to interact with. TheColors of Fire is an absolutely amazing fantasy story with a dark and gritty tone.

Craig Yorozuya - An excellent fantasy writer who I'm glad to have had the ability to speak with on occasion. I'd recommend The False Shopkeeper.

Kirkyb - While I've not had any interactions with them, their writing is absolutely incredible. I've read through quite a few of their stories hahaha. Sold to Survive is great.

ShadaStorm120 - One of the few people on here I'd actually consider a friend. She was friendly and helpful from the day I met her and I'm glad to have had that opportunity. Her stories are phenomenal, definitely give them a read. I recommend EmberSpring personally, her takes on the fantasy world and dragons are truly unique. Turning the Tide is also fantastic.

Raechelle Adams - Much like Kirkyb, I've not many interactions with her, and again much like Kirkyb, she's a fantastic writer.

GhostOfTheRain - One of the big names on here, and rightfully so. Their talent is incredible and their stories show that. If you're a fan of action/adventure and fantasy, you've got to give them a read. I recommend The Walking Game.

Akumakaze - A truly fantastic writer. His descriptive abilities are absolutely astonishing. He's also a top-notch person to interact with. Definitely check him out. Lucidity: Morpheus' Dream. What a story. I don't even know how to explain it, that's how unique this work is. This guy right here can hang with the big names when it comes to environmental description and world-building. Fantastic. Definitely give this story a read.

ShadowLight120 - A great writer and a fantastic person. He's always helpful and always has something good to say, be it critique or just kind words. His novel, Union: Disaster Rises is great and I highly recommend a read. He does a fantastic job of keeping his novel his own, and it truly is unique.

CheyJade - One of the best fantasy writers on here, and one of the masters of character development and dialogue scripting. I aspire to reach her level one day. Not only is she a fantastic writer, but she has the personality to match. She's been a tremendous help with all of my novels and I can't thank her enough. I simply hope I've been at least comparatively helpful for her. Her novel, A Broken Kingdom is absolutely amazing. If you're a fan of fantasy and the likes of elves and dwarves and such, definitely give this a read. You won't regret it.

TheRickestRick - From the few interactions I've had with him, he's been a pleasure to speak with. He's also a very unique writer, and handles fantasy/sci-fi very differently, in a good way. The House of Maxwell is his current big project, so definitely give that a read.

T.M/I.K - What can I say? Two extremely skilled writers and some of the best reviewers I've seen. They've left me smiling with each comment they gave and I'm always eager for more. They've also given me some inspiration to continue writing, even when I wasn't quite feeling it, so for that, I have to thank them :D The Renegade and Gods and Kings are two great novels, I definitely recommend you give both a looksie.

Next up could be you. My only requirements are to either be a fantastic writer who catches my eye or to be a top-notch person to interact with. That being said, if you aren't on here and believe you should be, don't be offended. I most likely just haven't read enough of your work and/or haven't interacted with you enough. Try shooting me a message! Who knows, maybe I originally intended to put you but forgot! Hahaha.

If you happen to stumble across my profile and are interested in reading some of my work, I recommend looking at some of my newer stuff, as my older works are riddled with grammatical issues and my writing itself just wasn't up to par. That being said, Jagged Bones, Felhammer, and Hunted are what I mainly recommend.

CheyJade, ShadowLight120, and I have created a house here on Booksie dedicated to writing challenges and knowledge sharing. If that sounds like your sort of thing, definitely come join us! :D Our house is called BoMoWriCha. Which stands for, "Booksie Monthly Writing Challenge." Though it encompasses much much more than just monthly challenges :P for those a bit confused, it's a bit similar to NaNoWriMo. Hope to see you there! :D
