Profile Information

Hello, people of the internet!

I'm fifteen, born November 29th, and I have a passion for both writing and reading! Just to let you know, reading requests are greatly appreciated and you're welcome to leave them here in the comments.

My story, 'From Invisible to Invincible', is in the YA section. It's a dystopian novel about a world where... Well, just read the novel to find out. I worked really hard on this, my first dysopian piece, and I hope you enjoy my little labor of love.

As for my pen name, I chose it because of my eye color. Shocking, right? ;) But the reason I chose it is because my eyes are usually the first thing people notice about me. They have a pattern in them. I've been told it looks like something exploding, like a star, like a sunflower, and many other things.

A big thanks to smircle for giving me my FIRST review! It means so much to me.

Now for some random facts about me that you probably don't care about but I'm telling you anyhow...

  • My friends call me Logie or Yogie, but I suppose you can call me Hazel
  • My favorite series books include the usual ones like Hunger Games, Divergent and Matched, and then some less well known ones like Uglies, Shelter, Legend, and Article 5
  • I'm short, have hazel-green eyes (obviosuly), light brown hair, and very, very small feet :|
  • I'm a big fan of anything considered 'nerdy' like Star Wars and the Harry Potter (even though I do NOT understand the reason it was labeled nerdy)
  • I'm a movie fanatic, I WANT THEM ALL
  • I'm a theatre kid at my school as well as a writer
  • To be my friend, you have to be able to put up with me being in a tizzy every Monday over the episode of The Walking Dead I saw the night before

I welcome reading requests, but I ask that if you do leave one that you be prepared to read my novel in return. I live by the 'give and you shall recieve' policy. Also, I have a lot of trouble organizing, so if I don't respond to you or read your story right away, I'm not ignoring you. I'm just a little inundated with requests and have no idea where to start.

And I apologize in advance for my profile pic. I know it's overdone but... I like it...

Some of you may disagree with this, but I truly believe that The Fault in Our Stars is one of THE best books of our generation, and everyone - male, female, young, old - should read it at least once before they die. I personally have read it once as a whole book, but I often go back and read certain parts just for the heck of it. It is just so wonderfully written and so heartwarming and inspirational and JUST SO GOOD GOSH DARNIT! For those of you who have read it: well, let's just say, I feel for The Fault in Our Stars the way Hazel Grace feels for An Imperial Affliction. ;) One day, when this book is talked about in English classes all over the nation who are reading this in class, I'll be watching from the distance with a single tear running down my cheek... (just joking about the tear thing; don't judge my awkward humor).

I, like many people, put things about myself in my characters. Here are some things I often put in my characters that is true about myself:

  • Short: I am almost 5"4 (so close) and my main characters are usually short too
  • Appetite: I eat like a bird, so my main characters usually have small stomachs
  • Brown hair: I don't know why, but I prefer my main character to have brown hair like mine over blonde, for example
  • Rational: You know when you're reading a story and the main character gets mad at someone for a stupid reason or makes a really, REALLY dumb decision without second thought and you just think 'what?' Well, don't expect that from me OR my characters!
  • Geek: If the story is modernized, expect my character to mention a love of Star Wars or various literature considered to be nerdy
  • Spunk: I'm pretty feisty; if I don't like something, I'll let you know about it, and the same thing goes for my main characters
  • Physical contact: I don't like when people get too close to me or touch me, especially without my permission, so my characters usually have a personal space bubble

So, this is my pathetic attempt at some organization in my life; I'm going to try and organize my reading requests! Now, if you sent me a request and you see your work isn't on this list, please send it again. I can't stress that enough. I probably missed it in the sea of requests. Please, just shoot me another comment, but no spamming. I don't like spamming.

  • MILLER by Naturelover780
  • The Black Secret by AbstractKash
  • Dare to love?? by princessniki
  • He Is Not Mine... by RabbitLynn
  • Spare My Blood by Lady Cataluna
  • The Other Half of Me by BriannasBooks
  • Unification by masharocks

Again, I missed you, shoot me a comment! And I didn't put them in order of when I'm going to read them. Often times, I read one chapter of one and then another of another one. And when I'm really hooked, I read more. It all depends on what I have to do in the meantime (i.e. school, theatre, social life). Feel free to leave a comment. Just rememeber, I live by the 'give and you shall recieve' policy. This isn't a one-way street!
