Well hey there again, World. How's it cracking?
18 November, 2012 as I type this, just to show that as of recent I'm still around in the virtual world. Started this account around three years ago and decided that, once again, my sporadic poetry and occasional prose needed a home here on the Internet. And thus you find me here.
A few years back, when people still saw me actively writing, I was known to the world as Destiny Vemier. This nice little psuedonym I choose to keep for myself. The years have seen drastic changes in personality and social standing and relationship status, and here I am coming back to where things started, where I began to discover myself: my writing. Hopefully as you read this, if you have read any of my previous poems or the like, you notice that my structure and diction is much matured and this I hope to maintain somewhat as I continue with my epic awesome creativeness.
So a tad bit about me, now that you've taken the time to read so far seeking information. I won't hide that I'm a girl because that fact presents itself obviously. Much of the rest--my name, age, where I live, etc.--is for those of you who know me personally. What I will say, though, is that I do currently have a certain wonderful person in my life and that things are hectic as SHIT in my life right now, as per usual. I have what one may stereotype as a "sailor's mouth" or "trucker's mouth" though you likely won't see much in my writing. I fell in love with reading perhaps in the fourth grade; though, where I read science-fiction and fantasy novels through much of my younger years, I now find myself entangled among the vast world of nonfiction which I have since discovered, my greatest distrations from productivity being philosophy, fitness/nutrition, theology, and a handful of the classic works from those such as Ralph Waldo Emerson, George Orwell, and Virgina Woolf (authors who have brought me back to fiction somewhat).
I do not aspire to write professionally, as I seem to have little time to develop the skill to my liking so that I would be satisfied doing it for the rest of my life; though, given the chance I finish developing the handful of plots I've already begun, we'll see where it leads me. Among reading I also have a massive passion for music; I play drums and dabble with a couple instruments as well. And more than both, I wake up everyday with the mission to learn something more of the world around me.
Life has its ups and downs. For me, it's not unusual that this is a daily cycle. You'll see that here, and I suppose that's my ultimate goal in the little bits of writing that I do accomplish. It is making palpable the voice inside that demands, "I am human. My feelings and my struggles are human. I am unique. I am real. I have a voice."
And so, with that lovely rant, welcome. You can call me Destiny.
The following were left behind from when I first started this account, and so I liked them and kept them:
