About

Hello, everyone.

My name is Thorn Sterling. I'm a jack of all trades in the arts. I write, paint, draw and even run a small free lance mask company called Dragon's Lair Masks and Oddities https://www.facebook.com/DragonsLairMasksAndOddities

I have been writing poetry for many years and give thanks to this gift to my grandfather who passed away several years ago. He was a wonderful poet and wrote heartfely poetry to my grandmother on specific dates of importancce to her in her life. I would read them religiously and dabble in my own work.

Since his passing, I thank him every time I write something. He's my guardian angel in my hopes of getting my poetry all compiled into a book and published. It's been a long road and many road bumps but I hope in the near future I can find a publisher who will help me with my work.

My poetry is rather eclectic. I have many love poems that's for sure. But the majority of my work does lean on the darker and more psychological side. It has been my medication in my battle against depression and anxiety. Where I could have ended my life i turned to the page and let out all those pains and desires to move on and live another day. There are times I use profanities in my work...it is in the moment. It drags the reader into the pain and turmoil that my mind is going through. But where there is darkness, there is also light. I write plenty of lighter side and as I mentioned, love poems.

One can only know my mind through what I write.
