I've always been interested in writing in some way or another. In elementary school, I once wrote my own version of Snow White and my teacher printed it into a book and that became commonplace for me to write stories, and they would bind them into books for the children's library.
I have poetry but it's years old and I don't generally post it online. I used to write a few screenplays before getting into novels...and it's my novels you'll likely see on this profile.
My urge to complete my first novel sort of came out of the blue. I was reading "Another Me" by Cathy McPhail and I couldn't focus because all I could think was how easily I could do this, writing, if I tried.
I found it silly that I was sitting there contemplating writing my own novel. Before this, I had made a practice at screenplay writing. I thought this was just like that, only with novels would have the freedom to get more 'in depth' with my details.
My first novel was based on a screenplay, based mostly on my dreams, called "The Dream Doctor." It's a story about a woman who woke up in a bathtub without any idea who she is. She learns that she is in Illusionate, a place where people go when they dream. With the help of her friends that she meets while she is there, She seeks out The Dream Doctor, and finds out her forgotten history has made her the one to end up saving Illusionate from ultimate destruction.
The cover IS under a different pen name. But that's okay. That doesn't change the quality of the book. Please check it out and let me know what you think.
I made the cover myself and under agreement to use the cover, I have to credit the model:
That's the tale I hope to post here, and get critique on. It's also the only novel I have that I managed to finish. I believed in it so much. I am a 24 year old amatuer writer who is hoping that with enough exposure, I can get published.
